Tips for buying bridesmaid dresses/outfits…

Buying bridesmaid dresses/outfits can be a joyful, fun experience – albeit a little stressful!  What’s important is to not get too hung up with keeping everything wedding theme perfect, as often you will be pleasantly surprised at what’s available on the high-street that often takes that theme to another level.  It’s also a good idea to plan your time well and have a very rough idea of places you would like to shop at – you can always get together and shop online…

Don’t skimp on the comfort factor with a bridesmaid dress, as an ill-fitting dress will often make a bridesmaid self-conscious which will reflect in the wedding photographs.  So spending a bit of extra time on finding a well fitted dress will be it’s own reward.  It’s also important to get the shoes right as well, as you may want your bridesmaids to high wedge heels but are any of them use to this sort of height and will they be in discomfort all day?  Often a pair of canvas shoes, or low wedges are much better than a bridesmaid awkwardly walking everywhere.

Do remember the little things like jewellery and appropriate underwear.  Make sure to get underwear that matches roughly to the dress colour and has no lace or evident seams (VPL) and try to avoid corsets or bustiers in favour of control underwear and natural coloured tights.
