It’s often a question that pops up, especially if you are somewhat local to your wedding venue – where to get ready on the morning of the wedding? At a hotel, or at home – perhaps even at a friends or parents house. The most important thing to ask yourself is no matter where you choose to get ready, will you be on time for your ceremony – as this is crucial if you don’t want to tick off your vicar or registrar. Something else to think about is how much space will you need on the day – are you having a large bridal party with lots of bridesmaids and flower girls? Are you having suppliers come in and drop off items for your day, such as flowers and decorations? Will you have a hairstylist, makeup artist or photographer with you?
Then there’s also the question of wherever you’re getting ready, is it photogenic? Often I have conducted makeup trials where either at the brides, or parents house there has been new wallpaper going up or paintwork – sometimes even new constructions to accommodate people!
Working from experience, I have noticed that the morning seems to work better when either a bridal suite has been booked with a ‘bedroom area’ and a ‘lounge area’ – where often the surroundings are kept to a high standard good enough for photographs. Or, when a bride gets ready at home in a large living room space. Space being key.
Wherever you’re get ready in the morning, make sure to have a fab time x
