Today is the wedding of Amy and Angus, and what an absolutely perfect day it is for them! The beautiful couple meticulously planned every little detail for their garden wedding, held at Angus’s parents house in Wiltshire, and it really paid off today with gorgeous bell tents, hale bales and a marquee like no other!
When I met Amy for her makeup trial she was very open to ideas, but said that she very much wanted to wear coral lipstick for her big day sooo… her wish was my command! I teemed Amy’s boho chic hairstyle and wedding gown with a coral and brown smokey eye, a little blusher and contour – finishing up with that coral lipstick x
It’s always nice to look back and see what you’ve accomplished, where you’ve been and the people that you’ve worked with. I often find myself looking back at old photos of clients I have had the pleasure of doing the makeup for, and just seeing if my technique and methods have changed and developed.
It’s so strange to think that I did Emma’s bridal makeup way back in April 2015! How time flies! I remember Emma being a particularly easy client, as she just wanted something sweet, soft, a bit boho chic – but nothing too fussy. I have so many fond memories of that day, with Emma’s bridesmaids getting ready in the background and having a giggle…just what a wedding morning should be like!

Tomorrow I will be at The Master Builder’s at Buckler’s Hard wedding showcase from 12 till 5pm. This very chic wedding venue will be packed with elite local wedding suppliers, all there to talk you through any questions you may have about your big day…and most importantly we’ll all have our diaries for bookings! The hotel will also be providing personal tours of the entire venue, so you really get a good idea of what it would be like to have your wedding at this stunning hotel.
Come and have a chat with me about your bridal makeup! x
This morning I had the pleasure of doing Vicky’s bridal makeup for her wedding today – a firework/chic town theme. Vicky is marrying in the Southampton registry office, after which the plan is to charter a private yacht to have a firework night extravaganza out at sea. What an experience! And the weather is so gorgeous today as well, cold yet sunny, a perfect night for fireworks!!
When I met Vicky for her trial she was a little nervous as she usually doesn’t wear any makeup day-to-day, so it was all new and a little scary for her. After carefully looking through all of Vicky’s ideas, seeing her dress and discussing her theme and what she wanted from her makeup – I designed her something pretty, low maintenance and natural. Choosing warm colours like deep pinks, golds and purples to create an easy eye. I then used just a little foundation (as Vicky wasn’t so sure about the feel of it on her skin) Adding light touches of bronzer, blusher and highlighter. Finishing the look I then used MAC’s cremesheen in Creme Cup for an equally soft look x
Yesterday I had the real pleasure of exhibiting at The Master Builder’s at Buckler’s Hard in the New Forest once again. I simply adore this chic venue and always get excited whenever I have a wedding there. The showcase had all the usual fab wedding suppliers such as Jo Hicks Flowers, Lemontree Photography, Karen’s Clever Cakes along with new exhibitor Something old Something new bridal boutique from Hythe. The day was so warm and sunny on the coast that the venue was packed with couples wanting to spend an entire day exploring the hotel and grounds, before booking in their wedding date with Hannah the wedding co-ordinator.
I actually had a couple of brides already booked in coming to have a quick chat, which is always nice as we get to have a bit of girly chat before the wedding day when there is very little time. With lots of business cards taken my inbox is now filled with enquiries from brides which is just wonderful, and I can’t wait to have more weddings at The Master Builder’s x
