A bridal boudoir styled shoot – showcasing the new ‘Blue Room’ Bridal Suite at Penton Park

Last month I was asked by the brilliant Tasha Newland of Ikonworks Photography, to provide makeup services for a ‘boudoir bridal suite’ styled shoot at wedding venue Penton Park.  Owners Danielle and Guy had been working around the clock getting the beautiful new bridal suite, now called ‘The Blue Room,’ ready for the shoot.  They commissioned Tasha with the task of providing the first images to be released to promote their new facility for brides.

I absolutely adored this room with its regency effect wallpaper, beautiful blue silk curtains and breathtaking bathroom.  I also love the fact that the room is very stately, yet has a unique ‘homely’ feel about it as Danielle and Guy did most of the work themselves.  Putting their heart and soul into this once forgotten building is wonderful to see.

Providing a makeup design for this styled shoot was such a joy, as I got to work with model and good friend Sophie Waldron again whom I have a MASSIVE girl crush on!  She’s simply amazing to work with – gorgeous features and so funny to boot…I don’t know how we get any work done!  I wanted the makeup to be a cross between a sexy, deep smokey eye that had that ‘boudoir’ element – yet could easily be carried through to a wedding look.  So I kept the smokey eye contained and neat, using lighter shades on the middle of the lid to lift the look and sweeping flecks of sparkle to highlight.  I then used a very bridal pink lip shade to pull the look together x
